PROPERTY PLANNING GUIDE · OCTOBER 2026
Budget for the whole charging project.
There is no single installed price that fits every property. Ask for a site-specific scope that separates initial costs from ongoing costs.
Equipment and electrical work
Ask for separate equipment, installation and commissioning line items. Existing electrical capacity, cable routes and distance to parking can change the scope. Utility upgrades or service work should be clearly included, excluded or identified as pending assessment.
Site work and approvals
Look for trenching, paving repairs, concrete, protective equipment, signage and relevant permitting or design fees. Confirm any allowances and the process for approving costs that exceed them.
Ongoing ownership costs
Discuss electricity, network subscriptions, payment processing if drivers pay to charge, connectivity, maintenance and repairs. A lower initial bid may carry different recurring costs. Ask who holds the equipment and network accounts after installation.
Contingency and unknowns
Require the proposal to identify assumptions and exclusions. Budget decisions should account for unresolved utility or construction requirements. Written change approval helps keep later costs understandable.
Treat incentives as conditional
Do not reduce the base budget using an assumed rebate or tax credit. Check the applicable program’s current eligibility, deadlines, covered costs and remaining funding directly. ParcelPlug EV does not guarantee incentive awards or charging revenue.
Private property requests open after verified installer coverage is ready. No account will be required to submit.
